Dr. Mallick Masum Billah, SAFETYNET Country Head Nepal, visited Rasuwa District, Nepal from May 7 – 11, 2023 for monitoring the quality of FETP frontline field projects by the fellows.
Rasuwa District is a district of Bagmati Province Nepal, having about 45,000 population with diverse geography and demographics. Mr. Bhim Sagar Guragain, Public Health Officer, District Health Office, Rasuwa and Ms Beli Poudyal, Hospital Nursing Inspector, Rasuwagadi Health Desk, Health check post of Nepal China border, are the fellows of the second cohort of FETP Frontline Nepal.
Mr. Baburam Bhushal, Senior Public Health Officer, National Health Training Center was the mentor of Mr. Bhim Sagar Guragain and Dr. Lee Budhathoki, Lieutenant Colonel of the Nepali Army was the mentor of Ms Beli Poydyal. Both of the mentors accompanied the visit. During the visit, several important quality issues of FETP field projects were identified and improved.
The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), Nepal started training the FETP Frontline’s second cohort on April 8, 2023. The 19 fellows of the second cohort are now in the field to complete the field project of their first field interval. SAFETYNET has technically and logistically supported the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Nepal for the Frontline training cohorts.
