Call for Nominations: 2026 CDC Director's Award

TEPHINET and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are now accepting nominations for the 2026 CDC Director’s Award for Excellence in Epidemiology and Public Health Response.

This prestigious award recognizes a Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) or Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (FELTP) that has shown exceptional leadership in responding to public health threats, overcoming challenges, and applying epidemiologic principles to create lasting impact.
The award will be presented during the FETP International Night Awards Ceremony on April 23, 2026.
Eligibility
Programs must have played a key role in responding to public health emergencies—such as outbreaks, natural disasters, or humanitarian crises—and contributed to innovations or improvements in public health practice.
How to Nominate
Submit nominations via the official form (email submissions will not be accepted).
Provide a 1-page summary (max 275 words) highlighting the program’s leadership, challenges faced, application of epidemiologic methods, and impact.
Eligible nominators: FETP/FELTP Directors, Resident Advisors, CDC, TEPHINET, and regional networks.
Deadline: April 12, 2026 (late submissions will not be accepted).
