The National Health Training Center (NHTC), Nepal graduated their fourth cohort of FETP frontline in Nepal. A graduation ceremony was organized at Sagarmata Hall of the National Health Training Center (NHTC), Kathmandu, Nepal.
A total of 12 government officials from seven provinces attended the training from August 23 – November 24, 2023; Among them, 4 were from municipalities, 4 were from districts, and 3 were from provincial directorates and one from national level. During the course, fellows improved surveillance, responded to deadly earthquakes in Jajarkot and Rukum West and investigated Dengue, Japanese Encephalitis, and Scrub Typhus outbreaks.
SAFETYNET has been supporting the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Nepal to run the FETP frontline both technically and logistically since May 2022. SAFETYNET started training the first cohort (batch) of the Nepal FETP frontline on November 27, 2022. By the end of one year, the country completed four cohorts of FETP and 69 graduates. The SAFETYNET country head for Nepal, Dr. Mallick Masum Billah, coordinated and provided technical support for maintaining the quality of FETP training.
