Scope of work for Program Manager – Strengthening Death Registration System (SDRS) in Bangladesh
1. Background
The South Asia Field Epidemiology and Technology Network, Inc. (SAFETYNET, Inc.) has awarded a 12 month cooperative agreement by the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC) to implement the project entitled: Strengthening Death Registration system in Bangladesh.
SAFETYNET Bangladesh is the implementing partner of this program in coordination with Registrar General Office and LGRD Ministry, GoB. SAFETYNET will closely work with Registrar General Office to plan and implement the different activities of Death registration system.
In response to the above requirements, SAFETYNET, has established a Bangladesh country coordination team to provide support for the effective implementation of the grant. Program Manager will be the important member of the team to plan and successful implementation of The strengthening death registration program.
2. Scope of Work
Program Manager will work under the direct supervision of country Head, Safetynet Bangladesh. The assigned Program Manager will undertake the following tasks, activities, duties, and responsibilities:
Oversee and manage SDRS activities in Bangladesh, in close coordination with the implementation partners specifically: Office of Registrar General, CRVS, city corporations and others stakeholders on project planning, implementation and evaluation
Be responsible for all management and financial functions of the SDRH program and public health campaigns.
Manage competing demands and priorities in assigned programmatic activities with limited supervision.
Monitor and supervise the pilot program sites
Act as a supervisor of all site coordinators of pilot program sites
Organize and coordinate the in-person training session of different stakeholders.
Prepare and coordinate the submission of all reports required by SAFETYNET HQ and US CDC and other partners
Responsible to visit frequently to different pilot sites and program interest area.
Perform any other additional duty that may be assigned by country Head, SAFETYNET Bangladesh
3. Nationality: Only Bangladeshi Citizen can apply.
4. Qualifications and Educational background
Medical graduate (MBBS or MD)
Post graduate degree in Public Health, program management (MPH, MPhil in any public health subject, Master in Health Economics)
5. Professional experience and knowledge
At least Five-year experience in managing a public health program.
Extensive knowledge and experience in planning, monitoring and implementation of the program.
Demonstrated knowledge of program management and partnership coordination.
Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
Strong communication skills
6. Language Skills
Fluent in English speaking and writing.
7. Level of Effort: Five days per week, 45 hours per week
8. Duty Station: Dhaka, Bangladesh with 50% field visit within the country
9. Period of Performance: Begins on 01 Aug, 2022 and ends on 31 January, 2023. May be extended subject to availability of fund.
