Call for Applications: Veterinary Consultant – One Health Frontline Training (Delhi)

To strengthen capacity for surveillance and response, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, in collaboration with partners, is conducting One Health Field Epidemiology Training Programs for health and non-health staff.


The South Asia Field Epidemiology and Technology Network (SAFETYNET) is seeking to recruit a Veterinary Consultant based in Delhi to support the Epidemiology Division of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the One Health Frontline training program.


Key Responsibilities

The Veterinary Consultant will work closely with MoHFW, CDC India, and other implementing partners to:

  • Support the design and facilitation of One Health Frontline trainings.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to trainees, especially in zoonotic and emerging infectious disease investigations.

  • Strengthen integration of animal health and public health surveillance systems.

  • Collaborate with national and state health authorities on trainings.

  • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of training activities.

  • Prepare and disseminate technical reports, publications, and presentations.


Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in Veterinary Science (B.V.Sc. & A.H. or higher qualification).

  • Public health/epidemiology training or relevant field experience in zoonotic disease surveillance and outbreak response.

  • Experience in training and mentoring.

  • Familiarity with the Indian public health and animal health systems.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

  • Willingness to travel anywhere in India.

 

Remuneration

Remuneration will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. A travel allowance and per diem will be provided for work-related travel in accordance with Safetynet’s travel policy. These are one-year positions, subject to the availability of funds.
