SAFETYNET shall celebrate World Field Epidemiology Day in September by conducting its first-ever online FETP conference for these programs in the Asia-Pacific Region. There are presently twenty-six FETPs running in twenty countries throughout the region.
World Field Epidemiology Day is celebrated internationally by TEPHINET every 7th and 8th of September.
The two-day event conducted via Zoom shall highlight the activities and accomplishments of trainees in Asia Pacific FETP programs who shall showcase their work to conference attendees through short video presentations.
The opening ceremonies on 7 September, Day One of this auspicious conference will be officiated by SAFETYNET Executive Director, Dr Maria Consorcia Quizon, followed by remarks from the TEPHINET Representative for the Western Pacific Region, Dr Martyn Kirk, and Dr Manoj Murhekar, TEPHINET Representative for the South East Asia Region. A ten-minute audio-visual montage of FETPs in action shall be presented at the opening festivities.
SAFETYNET envisions this first-of-its-kind online FETP conference to be replicated every quarter.
