Background

SAFETYNET, or South Asia Field Epidemiology and Technology Network, Inc. is an organization that fosters collaboration and cooperation in disease prevention and control efforts among countries in the Asia Pacific region by supporting applied epidemiology programs and enhancing surveillance systems.

SAFETYNET cooperates with government, non-government, and international agencies to increase inter-regional exchange, expertise sharing, and inter-agency and interdisciplinary collaborations to build applied epidemiology capacity among Asian nations. SAFETYNET supports frontline, intermediate and advance epidemiology training.

 

SAFETYNET, through cooperative agreement with USCDC, is committed to supporting the countries in running FETP programs and thus is looking forward to recruiting highly qualified persons for the position of Training consultant.

 

Education

Bachelor degree or post-graduation field in public health field, veterinary, epidemiology or related field. Evidence provide to graduate from advanced or Intermediate Field Epidemiology Training Program (in human or animal sector) will be advantageous.

 

Job Summary

The training officer will be reporting on a day-to-day basis to Cambodia Technical Advisor or the FETP Director at CDC/MOH.  He or she is expected to perform the following tasks:

 

·       Assist Cambodia Technical advisor to coordinate and conduct FETP frontline one health training workshops

·       Help in finalizing and adapting the curriculum of one health FETP frontline for Cambodia

·       Assist in reviewing the FETP one health materials (training material and field work guide) to fit with Cambodia context

·       Act as instructor and mentor with FETP frontline one health trainees and help them complete their field work assignments

·       Conduct post training assessment, at the end of each workshop and identify area for improvement

·       Work with admin assistant to compile and document training material and FETP frontline trainees’ field products.

·       Report progress of the training to technical advisor and partners

·       Perform other tasks as assigned by Cambodia technical advisor

 

Working Experience and skills

·       Having epidemiological background including experience in conducting outbreak investigation, public health and/or animal health surveillance

·       Having some knowledge and perspective in one health related field

·       Effective written and verbal communication skills in both Khmer and English

·       Ability to work collaboratively with professionals from different disciplines, including epidemiologists, veterinarians, ecologists at different level of government system

·       Strong team work and interpersonal skills

·       Experience in developing and delivering training programs for public health professionals, veterinarians, environmental scientists, and other stakeholders, especially field epidemiology training program is an advantage

·       Experience in managing project including planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation is an advantage

 

 

Renumeration

According to working experience and SAFETYNET policy. Travel allowance and per diem will provide for work related trip.
