CDC-FETP Institutionalization Webinar, From Program to National Asset: Planning the Future of Your FETP

Field Epidemiology Training Programs (FETPs) are most valuable when they become more than successful training programs—they become indispensable components of a country's public health system.

Achieving this requires intentional institutionalization planning: integrating FETP into Ministry of Health/National Public Health Institute (NPHI) structures, policies, workforce development, financing, and decision-making processes so the program is nationally owned and positioned to thrive for the long term. Sustainability is the result of that journey.

Join us for this practical webinar to explore how FETP leaders and Ministries of Health are using institutionalization planning to build stronger, more resilient programs that continue to develop the public health workforce, support outbreak response, and provide lasting value to their countries.

Objectives:

-Hear firsthand from FETP Program Directors and Ministry of Health/NPHI leaders about their FETP institutionalization and sustainability journeys.

-Learn practical approaches countries are using to plan for strengthening national ownership of their FETPs.

-Explore strategies for moving FETP from a successful program to a valued, sustainable national public health asset.

-Identify practical actions that can support institutionalization planning in your own country.

Bassam Jarrar, Team Lead, Workforce Strategy & Partnership Development Team, Global Workforce Development Branch, U.S. CDC, will present on a strategy toward FETP sustainability planning.
