Summary: The U.S. Mission in Hanoi is seeking an eligible and qualified applicant for the position of Financial Clerk in its Financial Management Center (FMC).

The work schedule for this position is:

• Full Time (40 hours per week)

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within 90 days of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position: No

Duties: Incumbent of this position will serve as a Financial Clerk in the Vouchering Unit to receive invoices from vendors, prepare vouchering packages, and submit vouchers to Post Support Unit (PSU). S/he will act as Point of Contacts with PSU on all vouchering matters. The incumbent will provide administrative support for Vouchering Unit; back up to other voucher examiners and perform any other assignment as assigned.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Education: College or university studies is required.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: At least one year of progressively responsible experience in accounting or vouchering is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have:

  • Good knowledge of office operations and procedural requirements pertaining to functions performed in an Accounting Office.

  • Good basic knowledge of standard accounting clerical procedures used to process and record transactions and accounting data.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:

  • Level 3 (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. (This will be tested.)

  • Level 3 (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing Vietnamese is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have: proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Good interpersonal skill is also required.

Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.
