The World Health Organization (WHO), Geneva, seeks a Coordinator, Mortality and Health Analysis Health Metrics and Measurement Cluster (Vacancy reference : 1802893)

The Coordinator Mortality and Health Analysis in the cluster of Health Metrics and Measurement leads and coordinates WHO's work related to global health data and statistics, with a focus on mortality and causes of death, including standards, analysis and reporting.

More specifically, the Coordinator will :

  • Develop and implement a renewed WHO vision and strategy on health data analysis, with a focus on mortality and cause of death statistics

  • Lead and coordinate WHO's work on monitoring the global health situation and trends

  • Collaborate with lead global institutions

  • Lead and effectively manage a team of subject matter experts and specialists

  • Provide expertise to Member States in the implementation of standards, classifications, terminologies and the application of information technology for health data

Educational requirements :

  • Advanced university degree (Master's) in statistics, epidemiology, demography, health sciences or other disciplines with relevant statistical and data analysis content.

  • At least one university degree (BSc or MSc) in biostatistics or related mathematical or quantitative analysis fields.

Experience : At least 15 years' experience at national and international levels in monitoring data on health situations and trends using mathematical, analytical statistics and modern modelling techniques.

Salary :
