We're proud to share that SAFETYNET participated in the Southeast Asia Heat Health Forum in Singapore (Jan 7-10), a crucial event addressing the growing threat of extreme heat. The forum brought together experts from across the region to discuss policy, urban heat mitigation, occupational heat stress, and protecting vulnerable populations.

As part of our public health workforce development fellowship, Dr. Nivethitha N from SAFETYNET India, presented a poster on her investigation of heatstroke deaths during a mass gathering in District X, India, April 2023. This research, which utilized the IPCC risk reduction matrix, highlights the importance of understanding heat-related risks and developing targeted interventions and heat specific guidelines.

The forum was a valuable opportunity to connect with researchers, policymakers, and community representatives working on heat-related issues. We gained valuable insights and established new partnerships that will further strengthen our efforts to combat the impacts of climate change.
