The 2nd didactic workshop of the training course on Early Detection and Response for Rapid Response Teams was held from 27-31 August 2018 at the BBPK Makassar in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. All 20 participants from the provincial health office, 6 district health offices, and BBPK Ciloto attended the workshop.
At the start of the workshop, participants gave presentations on surveillance data from their respective sites. Following the presentations, additional modules on outbreak investigation including specimen collection for laboratory testing, prevention and control of epidemic-prone diseases, and risk communication were taught to the participants.
The course is sponsored by SAFETYNET with staff from BBPK Makassar, BBLK Makassar, South Sulawesi Provincial Health Office, Takalar District Health Office, and Surveillance Sub-directorate at the Ministry of Health serving as trainers and field advisors.
